This sermon outline explains one of the most important distinctions in rightly dividing the word of truth: the difference between things God spoke by the prophets since the world began and the mystery He kept secret since the world began. Acts 3:21 and Romans 16:25 are not saying the same thing. One concerns prophecy, Israel, the kingdom, the covenants, the land, the throne of David, the restoration of all things, and the earthly reign of Christ. The other concerns the mystery revealed through Paul, the Body of Christ, the dispensation of grace, Jew and Gentile in one new man, and the Church’s heavenly calling. This study shows why mixing prophecy and mystery creates confusion about Israel, the Church, salvation, the rapture, the tribulation, and the gospel of grace.
