Founder & Pastor Profile

Paul Tackett

Founder, VerseQuest Ministries

Paul Tackett is an ordained pastor, Bible teacher, and the founder of VerseQuest Ministries, a global teaching ministry devoted to verse-by-verse Scripture study, doctrinal clarity, and faithful exposition of the Word of God. With more than three decades of ministry experience, Paul has served across a wide spectrum of Christian work, including pastoral leadership, evangelism, discipleship, chaplaincy, youth ministry, and theological teaching.

At the heart of Paul’s ministry is a deep conviction that God has preserved His Word and that believers are called to know it, study it, and live it with discernment in an increasingly confused world.

A Defining Conversion and Call to Teach

Paul was saved on October 31, 1993, when he came to a clear understanding of the Gospel as defined in Scripture: “that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:1–4). That moment marked a decisive turning point in his life and set him on a lifelong pursuit of biblical truth.

From that point forward, Paul committed himself to the study of Scripture, the proclamation of the Gospel, and the work of equipping believers to grow in spiritual maturity. His teaching is shaped not by trends or traditions, but by careful attention to the text of Scripture itself.

Theological Training and Academic Study

Paul holds a Bachelor of Theology (BTh) and a Master of Theology (ThM) in Pastoral Theology from Andersonville Theological Seminary, and he continues advanced doctoral work toward a Doctor of Theology (ThD) in the same discipline. His theological formation is rooted in Scripture and shaped by decades of ministry, disciplined study, and hands-on service in the local church.

Alongside his formal seminary training, Paul has pursued extensive university-level study in biblical studies, church history, ancient civilizations, and the intellectual world surrounding the Scriptures. His academic coursework includes studies through institutions such as Yale University, Duke University, Northwestern University, the University of Pennsylvania, Dallas Theological Seminary, Tel Aviv University, and the University of Colorado Boulder.

This blend of pastoral theology and academic breadth enables Paul to teach the Bible with both conviction and context—rightly dividing the Word of God while understanding the historical, cultural, and spiritual environments in which Scripture was written, transmitted, and received. His studies are never pursued for prestige, but in service to clearer doctrine, stronger faith, and faithful teaching of God’s preserved Word.

Decades of Hands-On Ministry

Long before VerseQuest Ministries existed, Paul spent decades in direct, hands-on ministry. He founded and directed TNT (Teens Need Truth), a youth ministry that reached hundreds of public-school students with biblical teaching and Gospel outreach. He served simultaneously as a chaplain in multiple nursing homes, ministering to the elderly and those nearing the end of life with compassion and faithfulness.

Paul also participated in state prison ministry, preaching, counseling inmates, and discipling new believers behind prison walls. In addition, he has engaged extensively in door-to-door evangelism, street preaching, public outreach, tract distribution, home Bible studies, and structured discipleship programs.

His pastoral service includes roles as Assistant Pastor, Pastor, and participation in pastoral councils, contributing to church leadership development, doctrinal instruction, and congregational care. These years of ministry form the practical foundation of VerseQuest Ministries, a work shaped by lived experience rather than theory alone.

VerseQuest Ministries

VerseQuest Ministries was founded in 2024 as a digital-first teaching platform designed to reach believers worldwide with Scripture-centered instruction. The ministry focuses on verse-by-verse Bible teaching, sound doctrine, and careful biblical interpretation rooted in the King James Bible.

Today, VerseQuest reaches more than 254,000 followers globally through teaching content, written studies, and online engagement. The ministry exists to serve believers at every stage of spiritual growth, from those new to the faith to seasoned students of Scripture seeking deeper understanding.

Planned expansion includes the development of the VerseQuest Bible Institute, certification and training programs, and future local church initiatives centered on evangelism, discipleship, and doctrinal teaching.

Teaching Philosophy and Focus

Paul’s teaching emphasizes clarity, structure, and faithfulness to the text of Scripture. He approaches the Bible with a literal, contextual method of interpretation and teaches key doctrinal themes such as salvation by grace, eternal security, dispensational truth, and the hope of Christ’s return.

His instruction ranges from foundational biblical teaching to more advanced theological and historical studies, always with the goal of helping believers understand what the Bible says, why it says it, and how it applies to life and faith today.

Looking Forward

Now based in Northern Florida, Paul is preparing for the next phase of ministry, which includes local church planting alongside the continued growth of VerseQuest Ministries. His calling remains unchanged: to teach the Word of God faithfully, to equip believers with biblical understanding, and to encourage a deeper love for Scripture.

VerseQuest Ministries exists to help believers move from casual reading to careful study, from uncertainty to confidence, and from information to transformation, rooted firmly in the Word of God.

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
