This VerseQuest Ministries sermon outline on Colossians 3:3 explains the powerful security truth that “your life is hid with Christ in God.” The outline shows that the believer has been identified with Christ’s death, raised with Christ, given new life in Him, securely hidden with Him in God, and destined to appear with Christ in glory. It carefully distinguishes the believer’s secure standing from his changing practical state, eternal security from careless living, positional truth from daily sanctification, and present hidden life from future glorification. The sermon also addresses mortifying the flesh, seeking things above, setting the affection on heavenly things, grieving the Spirit, chastening, spiritual growth, and the believer’s responsibility to live consistently with his position in Christ. Preachers, teachers, and Bible students will gain a strong KJV-based framework for teaching assurance, heavenly identity, sanctification, and the unshakable security of the believer in Jesus Christ.
